WHAT IS NEW WITH FBI BACKGROUND CHECKS?

No more mailing your Fingerprint Ink card to the FBI, getting a Money Order for $18, standing in long lines to mail the Fingerprint card at the Post Office and waiting up to 120 days to receive your results.  Most often the time to submit your Fingerprints to the requesting agency (immigration court, school in a foreign country, etc) would have passed causing you frustration, inconvenience and additional expenses.

You can now receive your results within 7 to 10 days of FBI processing your background checks.  An expedited option of receiving your results within 24 to 48 hours of processing your background check is also now available for an additional fee.   If you do not receive your report within 21 days of taking your prints, please contact us at 213-489-4559 and we will get you another copy of your FBI Criminal background results.

What can I do if I find errors on my FBI report?

You have the right to challenge information you believe to be incorrect on your FBI criminal history report.  Ideally, the FBI will update your record if the request is made directly from the arresting agency, police department or county courthouse.  However, you can also send any supporting documentation along with a letter challenging the disputed information on your report to the following address:

FBI CJIS Division

Attn: Correspondence Group

1000 Custer Hollow Road

Clarksburg, WV 26306

Upon verification with the appropriate agencies and parties, the FBI CJIS Division will update its records.

How does A1 Live Scan electronically process my fingerprint card?

We capture your fingerprints on 2 ink cards using live scan technology and electronically submit them in an encrypted manner to our affiliate, NCR in San Jose, CA.  NCR is one of the few approved FBI Chanellers in the West Coast.  They then submit your fingerprint imagess along with your encapsulated biographical information to the FBI in a secure manner.  Typically they receive the results within 12 to 15 hours of submitting the fingerprints to the FBI.  Depending upon the level of service you chose at the time your fingerprints were taken, you will receive them within 24 to 48 hours or within 7 to 10 days.
