If you’re applying for a healthcare license in Florida — whether as a nurse, caregiver, or other healthcare professional — you’ll need to comply with the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) fingerprinting requirements. At A1 LiveScan & Notary Services, we’ve helped thousands of professionals through this process and are one of the few companies in Los Angeles certified by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) to roll and transmit fingerprints for Florida.
Here’s what you need to know before you come in for your appointment.
Before visiting our office, you must first register with AHCA (the Agency for Health Care Administration). This is a crucial step to generate the unique identifiers needed for your background check.
The ORI number (Originating Agency Identifier) tells FDLE where to send your background check results. Every licensing board or agency has its own ORI number, and using the wrong one can delay your application.
Along with the ORI, you’ll receive a Screening ID number after registering with AHCA. This number links your fingerprints to your specific application. Both numbers will appear on a confirmation sheet that you must bring to your fingerprint appointment.
Once you’ve registered and printed your AHCA confirmation sheet (with your ORI and Screening ID numbers), bring it to our office. From there, we take care of the rest:
Without your ORI and Screening ID, your fingerprints cannot be processed correctly — and your application could be delayed. Preparing these in advance makes your fingerprinting smooth, fast, and stress-free.
For Florida healthcare professionals, AHCA compliance may sound complicated, but it’s simple once you know the steps: register with AHCA → get your ORI and Screening ID → bring the confirmation sheet to A1 LiveScan. We’ll handle the rest so you can focus on your career.
